Parsing HARO Emails

HARO (Help a Reporter Out) connects journalists seeking expertise to include in their content with sources who have that expertise.

The service sends you three emails a day (Monday – Friday) with 40-70 expertise or personal experience queries on current trending topics.

The requests include the topic, a short description & requirements, the submission deadline, and an email address to which you can pitch your expertise.

Parsio can extract all this data from HARO emails automatically. All you need to do is to choose "HARO" as a predefined template set in your Mailbox Settings:

Mailbox Settings

This action will create a special field "HARO" of type Table in your mailbox.

Then, forward your HARO emails to that mailbox (or reprocess existing emails) and they will be parsed. Alternatively, you can upload HARO emails as EML files or forward them in bulk as attachments.

Now you can export the parsed results to Sheets (make sure to choose 'Haro' as a field to export):

⚠️ Important: If you have any templates in your mailbox, Parsio will try to use them first (and if it can't, then it will use predefined templates). So make sure to delete or disable your custom templates if you don't plan to use them.

If you have any feedback or comments, please let us know via chat or email.
