Email Signature Parsing

This article is about the template-based parser.

Parsio's email signature parsing feature is a powerful tool that can help you extract key contact information from your emails. We use AI to identify and extract the following fields from email signatures:

  • first_name
  • last_name
  • email
  • job_title
  • position
  • company
  • phone
  • website
  • linkedin
  • twitter
  • facebook

You can activate the email signature parsing in your mailbox settings. The feature costs 1 credit per extraction, regardless of whether a signature is found or not. However, if you re-parse a document, you won't incur any additional credits for signature extraction.

The email signature parsing feature only works on parsed documents in the default mailbox type that receives emails. It doesn't apply to AI mailboxes that process PDF files.

This means that your email should be parsed by a template in order for the signature extraction to work. If you want to extract signatures from all incoming emails, you can create a simple template with one field capturing the word 'Subject'. This template will match all incoming emails. You can also combine this 'match all' template with other parsing templates in your mailbox.

The parsed data is in the special field __sig__. You can rename this field using the post-processing or field formatters step, if needed.

Please note that it takes 2-5 seconds per document to extract information. This may slow down the parsing process if you are parsing hundreds of emails simultaneously.

You can export contact data from email signatures in real-time to Google Sheets, CRM, or any other app using an automation platform like Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.
