Parsio allows you to extract any text data from your emails and documents. Sometimes you may also want to extract metadata: sender's email address, email received date and time etc.
Regular fields is probably what you will use the most. We briefly saw how to use them: Create your first template. Here we are giving some advanced details about regular fields.
Firstly, there are 2 restrictions when you add a new field:
1. Parsio doesn't allow to create "chained fields": you should leave at least one character between 2 fields. Example:
2. A field can not include another field. Continuing with the previous example, you can not extract "email@example.com" as field1 and "support" as field2.
Secondly, fields are created on the mailbox level. Therefore, when you add a new field, the same field will be added to all other templates of the mailbox (as unused field). Unused fields will be exported with an empty value.
Lastly, note that a template that contains more fields, will have a higher priority. E.g. if Template_A has 3 fields and Template_B has 5 fields, Parsio will try to extract data using the Template_B. Then, if the parsing failed, Template_A will be applied.

Meta fields are used to extract generic email information (as opposite to regular fields which are used to extract data from the email content). Meta fields are also created on the mailbox level and therefore they are shared between all templates in the mailbox.
